This seasonal role encompasses all that is required to lead delivery of exceptional guest experiences at The Remarkables by the Guest Services team. Guest Services are often where our guests’ first direct experience with NZSki begins in town or on mountain. Our Guest Service teams play a vital role in creating a memorable and exceptional piece of our customer journey, delivering on our promise to our guests.
This role will lead The Remarkables’ Guest Services team and collaborate with our larger NZSki Guest Services team. A key part of the Head of Guest Services role is to create an environment enabling continuous development of a customer-centric culture, enabling our Guest Services team to deliver exceptional experiences for all our guests including via e-commerce, phone, email, social media, and in person.
About the role
• Part of the NZSki Head of Department team, you will report to The Remarkables Assistant Ski Area Manager (ASAM) with support from NZSki GM Customer.
• This role takes direct responsibility for the operation and performance of The Remarkables Guest Services during winter operations.
• This winter the role will also be responsible for our new Trail Safety team, and you will work with the ASAM to develop and manage this important team.
• You will be responsible for providing operational leadership to deliver the business and brand promise to our customers. You will be managing in a fast-paced environment that presents a diverse range of challenges daily. You will align your communication and behaviour with our NZSki and Customer strategic objectives, as well as delivering on The Remarkables’ targets.
• The position requires working with our resort management software Intouch / Elevate sales environment, and a strong working knowledge of electronic and online sales systems at all levels.
• This role requires strong working relationships and positive effective communication with the HOD leadership team at The Remarkables, other Guest Services teams within NZSki, and our other Ski Area Heads of Guest Services.
About You
• A passion for NZSki’s focus on customer experience.
• Ability to lead, coach and motivate The Remarkables Guest Services team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Works effectively within a team as well as in a leadership role.
• Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of GS.
• Proven record in working to operational plans and achieving KPIs.
• Understanding of POS systems.
• Agile thinker, a radar for innovation and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of our operational sales systems, supporting the implementation of new technology and systems.
• Competent with analysing and responding to sales data and trends, to optimise sales.
• Flexible with work hours to meet business requirements
