Job Description

Join us for your placement year in summer 2026/27! Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what it's like to work for a world-renowned brand with a culture of support and community.

The internship is within the Bosch R&D department where we look after heating products throughout their lifecycle from concept/idea stage to the end-of-life. The R&D team consists of design and development engineers as well as project and product managers working together to create market leading heating systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Based in Worcester, you will have the chance to work for a dynamic company to enrich your knowledge and experience. During your 12 month internship, you will have the opportunity to support on a range of design & mechanical engineering topics and become an integral part of the team. You will gain experience in:

• CAD modelling & technical drawings
• Design workshop and rapid prototypes
• Operating and maintaining 3D printers
• Testing appliances
• Liaising with colleagues and suppliers internationally

You will be working in a team with, and learning from, talented engineers with a variety of skills

Qualifications

Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.

Our ideal candidate must have:

• Must be an undergraduate student, in an engineering related subject
• Must have some prior familiarity with a CAD software

Our ideal candidate should have:

• The ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time
• Proficiency in clear and effective communication, both in verbal and visual formats

Contract Duration: 1 year

Working Hours:

• 39 hours per week – standard working pattern of 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 16:00 Friday with a 1-hour lunchbreak
