VDM Metals USA, LLC is a leader in developing materials for the future and has been in operation for over 85 years. They are seeking a Sr. Applications Engineer to assist in the development and marketing of new alloys, provide technical support, and coordinate industry standards approvals.
Responsibilities:
- Promote VDM alloys within market segments such as oil & gas, aerospace, and chemical processing industries through customer visits, technical conferences, and trade shows
- Collaborate with universities, national laboratories, and customers to evaluate and support new alloys and products
- Perform industry standard committee work necessary to achieve industry standards approvals for new alloys and products; maintain applicable membership in these committees including AMPP and API
- Network with existing and potential customers to promote VDM, VDM’s alloys and VDM’s products through involvement with technical organizations
- Coordinate customer approvals to expand the sale of VDM’s alloys and products
- Prepare market surveys/studies for innovative technologies and applications that could utilize VDM alloys
- Assist with technical marketing tasks (Germany and USA) by the preparation of line cards, alloy data sheets, and brochures
- Make technical presentations at technical conferences, technical symposiums, trade shows, customer visits, and VDM meetings
- Provide technical support to Sales regarding inquiries, orders, certifications, customer visits, and customer issues. Perform periodic technical training for Sales staff
- Conduct metallurgical investigations related to process control and product development
- Analyze metallurgical data and write technical reports
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of technical experience related to wrought nickel-base alloys and industry standards such as API, ISO, ASTM and ASME
