Kforce Inc is seeking a Quantum/Cryptography Engineering Lead for a remote role. The successful candidate will establish and lead an Enterprise Quantum Safe Program, transitioning enterprise systems to post-quantum cryptography and modernizing cryptographic implementations across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead an Enterprise Quantum Safe Program focused on preparing the organization's cryptographic environment for the emerging risks posed by quantum computing
- Define and execute the strategy for transitioning enterprise systems to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum-safe architectures
- Work across security, infrastructure, application, and cloud engineering teams to identify where cryptography is used throughout the enterprise and modernize those implementations with quantum-resistant algorithms and frameworks
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cryptographic inventory, including protocols, certificates, keys, HSMs, and key management systems, and establish governance around algorithm agility and cryptographic lifecycle management
- Evaluate and implement modern cryptographic libraries and protocols, supporting secure implementations of technologies such as TLS, SSH, and IPsec
- Collaborate with security, architecture, and platform teams to ensure cryptographic standards are applied consistently across enterprise systems
- Help establish cryptographic SBOM/CBOM inventories and partner with security and threat intelligence teams to assess evolving quantum computing risks
- Provide both technical leadership and direct engineering contributions while overseeing a small team of engineers supporting the program
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer/Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cryptography engineering, network security, or secure systems engineering
- Strong technical background in cryptography, including encryption algorithms, key management, and secure protocols
- Experience managing or administering Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) in an enterprise environment
- Proven experience delivering technical engineering initiatives or complex security programs from design through deployment
- Experience working across infrastructure, application, and security teams in large enterprise environments
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineers or leading cross-functional technical teams
- Strong understanding of secure network protocols such as TLS, SSH, and IPsec
- Deep technical expertise in cryptography, PKI, and secure networking
