Emerson is a global leader in automation technology and software, seeking an RF Validation System Architect to drive the technical vision for Semiconductor Validation RF space. This role involves defining architectural requirements, leading customer discussions on system needs, and providing innovative capabilities to enter new markets.
Responsibilities:
- Drives the technical vision for the Semiconductor Validation RF space, along with establishing a clear path on how to get there by working with Engineer teams
- Seeks innovation to provide differentiated capabilities to customers, to enter new markets, and to amplify innovation within the organization
- Expert in multiple RF products from NI, including the achievable capabilities when bringing products together to create a system
- Advises business and R&D on technical tradeoff decisions
- Leads customer discussions on future system needs, trends, and technical exchanges that guide NI’s roadmap
- Assess initial technical feasibility to ensure practicality of strategies
- System consulting for customer opportunities
Requirements:
- Deep working knowledge of one or more RF standards (e.g., 3GPP, IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, etc), including applicable test specifications, and their implications on system architecture and roadmap decisions
- Strong system-level understanding of NI RF hardware and software (USRP, VST, VNA, RFmx, Drivers, etc) platform and its use in integrated test systems
- Experience designing RF instrumentation systems, including calibration techniques, error budgeting, and performance tradeoffs across the system lifecycle
- Strong software background with emphasis on instrumentation control, DSP, automation frameworks, and data analysis, enabling scalable and maintainable test system architectures: Python, C#, LabVIEW and/or MATLAB
- Advises business and R&D on technical tradeoff decisions
- Leads customer discussions on future system needs, trends, and technical exchanges that guide NI's roadmap
- Assess initial technical feasibility to ensure practicality of strategies
- System consulting for customer opportunities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of experience developing, automating or architecting electronics systems
- Ability to use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators
- Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
