The Executive Director of Competency-Based Education and New Delivery Model Integration will optimize strategies for competency-based education models, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and integrating innovative technologies into academic delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that competency-based education optimization and academic delivery strategies align with institutional goals, and standards
- Plan and implement integration roadmaps that allow for the successful transition of newly validated models to the appropriate academic unit, including all related processes, technologies, services, and teams into the operationalized Academic ecosystem
- Foster progress as a structured discipline through the appropriate use of planning, tools, techniques, and formalized innovation cycles
- Contribute to environmental scanning capabilities that capture market, employer, and internal data and turn that data into usable intelligence that indicates where delivery or improvement is appropriate
- Support the strategy for integrating industry credentials, digital credentials, and flexible pathway options as part of our academic product strategy
- Manage academic delivery outcomes using measurements, and established performance targets
- Cultivate relationships with partners across SNHU to ensure transparency in the work, its purpose, and projected outcomes; alignment of expectations and resources; and clarity of performance and results
- Support the strategic vision for academic delivery development and the integration of new delivery models and practices
- Support the strategy for the development, piloting, and implementation of adaptable educational models, collaborating with innovation and testing teams to pilot new technology solutions (such as AI), faculty models, and learning design approaches
- Lead the optimization of existing non-traditional, competency-based educational models, to ensure long-term viability
- Lead a team of motivated, passionate, focused employees, including CBE Academic Deans and Reviewers
Requirements:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited university
- 5+ years of experience in higher education leadership
- Leadership development toward building leaders who model university shared values, cultural norms, and behaviors
- Experience with the higher-education landscape, future signals and opportunities that present promising strategies for the future
- In-depth understanding of learning delivery models, which might include Competency-based Education; Experiential Learning; Project-Based Learning; Self-Paced learning
- Understanding of the possible effects of learning design on delivery model implementation
- The ability to translate a vision into concepts; practical roadmaps for design teams; and sustainable, implementable delivery models
- Design thinking, analytical, and practical design process skills
- Use team member capability and strength to maximize achievement
- Align and mobilize teams through shared vision and common purpose to achieve strategic and operational outcomes
