Healthy Together is a mission-driven, high-growth startup focused on improving government efficiency through technology. The Outcomes Full Stack Engineer will partner with government clients to develop AI-powered applications, translating operational challenges into technical solutions while owning the entire delivery process from scoping to deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with state and local government clients to deeply understand program workflows, citizen and staff pain points, and define the right technical solutions to achieve measurable outcomes
- Build and deploy AI-powered and automation-driven applications using Healthy Together’s core platform and modern web technologies
- Translate ambiguous operational or policy challenges into clear technical requirements, data models, and product designs
- Prototype, iterate, and productionize new modules and AI agents that can be reused across future client implementations
- Own end-to-end delivery — from scoping and architecture to deployment, integration, testing, and monitoring
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Client Success teams to ensure the solution meets both the client’s goals and Healthy Together’s technical standards
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, efficiency, and data-driven decision making across client programs
- Contribute to improving our internal engineering and deployment playbooks to make each future engagement faster and higher quality
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering, full-stack development, or applied ML/AI development
- Proven ability to build production systems that serve real users
- Strong skills in one or more modern programming environments (e.g., TypeScript/React, Python, Node.js, or similar)
- Experience with building and working with API integrations
- Experience using AI software development tools to accelerate development (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, Devin)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern DevOps practices
- Experience working directly with clients or cross-functional stakeholders to define and deliver solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills — comfortable discussing technical trade-offs with engineers and explaining concepts to non-technical partners
- Product mindset: ability to think beyond the code to the outcome, user experience, and long-term maintainability
- Passion for public sector impact and improving how people access essential government services
- Experience building or integrating AI/ML systems (LLM-based agents, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, etc.)
- Prior work in civic tech, GovTech, health tech, or adjacent regulated domains
- Experience with data modeling and analytics pipelines
- Comfort working in dynamic, forward-deployed environments where scoping, building, and iterating happen quickly
- Previous startup experience or ownership of end-to-end projects
