Director, Packaging Engineer

The Coca-Cola Company is seeking a Director, Packaging Engineer to manage technical projects involving various packaging materials. This role entails leading packaging engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement in packaging processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support packaging engineering projects across various packaging material categories
• Conduct packaging material evaluations, testing, qualifications, and documentation
• Identify and resolve packaging-related issues in manufacturing environments
• Ensure packaging systems meet safety, regulatory, and quality requirements
• Provide technical support during line trials, validations, and material changes
• Develop project scopes, timelines, and deliverables
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams, suppliers, quality groups, and procurement
• Manage multi-site project activities and ensure consistent implementation
• Maintain accurate records, test results, and project status updates
• Assess existing packaging solutions for opportunities to improve performance or reduce cost
• Review new materials and technologies relevant to operational needs
• Recommend improvements to packaging processes and specifications

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering
• 7+ years of professional experience in innovation and creative work
• Experience working with packaging development for beverage applications
• Experience working with a range of process technologies
• Experience commercializing a new technology
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Education: Doctorate degree in a Packaging science, Packaging engineering, or related field
