Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations. They are seeking a Technical Writer – Jr. Project Manager to draft and edit technical documents while providing project management services for a Cybersecurity Task Order.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, expand, refine, and edit technical concepts or solutions into easy-to-read, comprehensive, compliant, signature-ready, and compelling documents tailored for audiences ranging from entry-level technical to executive level
- Interact with technical team members for content development
- Standardize documentation where appropriate, e.g. templates, plans, processes, procedures
- Become well versed in and comply with federal government (especially CISA) and Leidos official document requirements and style guides
- Provide project management services to plan, coordinate, manage, and report on project status for assigned projects
- Establish and maintain necessary controls, management oversight, documentation, reporting, customer support, and notification functions as well as ensuring that required tasks stay on track and milestones are met
Requirements:
- Requires a BA degree and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience, preferred English/Journalism/Project Management background with the ability to efficiently and effectively write accurate and customer-compliant technical documents, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Strong ability to quickly and effectively gather requirements, perform research, compile information, prioritize and collate, draft, edit, and produce high-quality documentation that satisfies customer needs with minimal follow-on work needed
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) required
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
- Ability to manage multiple communications projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work cross functionally among PMO and technical staff
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and fluid environment
- A CISA Entry on Duty (EOD) is required to support this program
- Experience drafting IT, cybersecurity, or related technical documentation using federal government, particularly DHS, official document requirements and style guides
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- CAPM or PMP certification
