The Lead Project Engineer will oversee cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful program execution and manage complex hardware and software systems on airborne platforms.
Responsibilities:
- The Lead Project Engineer will oversee and lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful program execution and bid/proposal activities
- Responsibilities include providing technical leadership to resolve design and integration challenges for system development efforts related to Electronic Attack Mission Systems and Digital ICS products
- The role involves developing and managing program plans, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
- The engineer will be responsible for documenting and approving program plans, managing risks, and coordinating overall program activities throughout the lifecycle
- Regularly briefing senior leadership on program status, cost, and schedule variances is essential
- The role also involves ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety, reliability, and performance requirements, as well as maintaining effective communication with internal teams and external customers at every phase of the program
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of experience
- Minimum of 13 years of related experience without a degree will also be considered
- Demonstrated expertise in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget
- Solid understanding of engineering processes and policies
- Experience in aircraft integration, testing, and delivery
- Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (SCI) clearance
- Leadership experience
- Excellent stakeholder communication
- Strong understanding of compliance and safety standards
- Experience in software/hardware engineering, systems engineering, or project engineering
- Ability to travel as needed
