Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Waterfront Engineer to join our growing Maritime & Coastal (M&C) practice on the East Coast, based in our Savannah, Georgia office. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping resilient coastal and waterfront infrastructure, leading and contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects that serve municipal, government, private, and contractor clients. You will be engaged across the full project lifecycle, providing technical design expertise, project and client management, and strategic business development support. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with fellow engineers and cross-discipline teams while delivering innovative solutions that strengthen coastal communities and critical infrastructure.
As a Waterfront Engineer at GHD, you will be trusted to manage projects to successful completion, develop high-quality technical reports, plans, and specifications, and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulators. You will be a visible leader within the M&C group, fostering open communication, mentoring junior staff, and proactively coaching project teams to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency are upheld throughout every phase of work. You will also help grow existing client relationships, support pursuit and proposal efforts, and stay well informed on market trends, resiliency initiatives, and client needs within the maritime and coastal sector. Beyond project delivery, you will be encouraged to engage with local committees and professional organizations, building your personal brand while advancing GHD’s presence in the region.

What you’ll bring to the team:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
12-15 years of engineering and project management experience including ports and marine infrastructure
Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia required
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while supporting personnel in both remote and in-person settings
Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Working knowledge of modeling and design software as applicable
