About the role

• As a Public Relations (PR) Intern at Westwin Elements, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the dynamic field of public relations within the context of the critical minerals industry. You will work closely with our PR team to develop and implement strategies that enhance our company's image and communicate our mission to various stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Media Monitoring and Story Development:
• • Monitor national, regional, and industry news for mentions of Westwin Elements and relevant industry topics.
  • Track media coverage of Westwin and relevant policy developments.
  • Identify story opportunities and recommend media angles tied to current news events.
• Content Creation:
• • Draft press releases, media advisories, op-eds, and talking points.
  • Develop and pitch story ideas to journalists and industry outlets.
  • Assist in maintaining media contact lists.
  • Track media outreach and coverage results.
• Social Media Management:
• • Support in managing the company's social media presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Develop and schedule social media posts to promote company news, events, and achievements.
• Event Coordination:
• • Assist in planning and coordinating PR events such as press conferences, industry conferences, and community outreach programs.
  • Manage logistics, invitations, and follow-up communication for events.
  • Help prepare media kits and event materials.
• Media Relations:
• • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and industry influencers.
  • Pitch stories and press releases to media outlets to secure coverage for Westwin Elements.
• Research and Analysis:
• • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments.
  • Prepare reports and presentations based on research findings to support PR strategies.
• Brand Management:
• • Assist in maintaining and upholding the company's brand identity and messaging consistency.
  • Monitor online reputation and address any brand-related issues or inquiries.
• Internal Communications:
• • Support internal communication efforts by drafting newsletters, memos, and updates for employees.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and events.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related fields.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be an avid consumer of news and able to identify emerging storylines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and analytics tools.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Previous internship or relevant experience is a plus.
