General Purpose of Job
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the Edfinancial Services facilities, performing printing and other mailroom activities, and coordinating with outside contractors or vendors for various services. Since this is an essential role within our
operations, consistent attendance is mandatory; candidates must be prepared and able to report for all scheduled shifts regardless of snow or seasonal weather. The technician must be mechanically inclined and is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting multiple mechanical and electrical devices such as mail folders/inserters, postage meters, ice makers, diesel generators, climate control systems, and light fixtures. The technician is responsible to learn and understand the
scope of all work required and communicates any potential issues when necessary to ensure all parties are kept aware of possible risks that may occur.
Duties and Responsibilities (Daily and Monthly)
- This is an in-office position only
- Maintain excellent communication with all customers and other members of the
Information Systems department. - Maintain a positive work atmosphere with coworkers, clients, and management.
- Acts as the primary contact for all facilities related issues (climate control, odors,
smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, repairs, etc.). - Monitors performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors.
to ensure work is completed according to specifications. - Solicits bids and quotes from vendors when necessary.
- Replaces lighting when needed including minor electrical work where required.
- Troubleshoots electrical issues and determined when an electrician is required.
- Makes minor plumbing repairs as needed.
- Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves.
- Transports goods or equipment as needed.
- Monitors and reports on performance of vendor cleaning services.
- Performs cleaning duties as necessary to maintain a clean work environment for
all employees. - Updates and maintains facilities preventative maintenance and inspection
schedules. - Understand and perform outbound mail and print processes to standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Maintain confidentiality with privilege information obtained in the course of
work. - Provide on-call support as needed.
- Execute other assigned tasks as delegated by management.
