We are looking for a Power BI Engineer with strong experience in developing advanced dashboards, semantic models, and analytics solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. The candidate should have hands-on expertise in different Power BI connectivity modes, modern lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake, and strong data modeling practices.
The role also requires active use of AI tools to accelerate analytics development, improve insights generation, and enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Development & Analytics
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business and operational analytics
• Translate business requirements into effective data models and analytical visualizations
• Build highly interactive reports that deliver actionable insights
• Optimize Power BI datasets and dashboards for performance and scalability

Power BI Data Connectivity & Architecture
• Work with multiple Power BI data connectivity modes, including:
o Import Mode
o DirectQuery
o Composite Models
• Understand trade-offs between performance, refresh strategies, and real-time reporting needs
• Design efficient semantic models aligned with enterprise data architecture

Microsoft Fabric & Lakehouse
• Develop analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric
• Work with Fabric Lakehouse architecture and Delta Lake storage
• Build reporting models on Fabric-based datasets and pipelines
• Integrate Power BI with Delta Lake / Lakehouse environments for scalable analytics workloads

Data Modeling & Transformation
• Build optimized star schemas and semantic models
• Develop data transformations using Power Query and dataflows
• Work with SQL databases and enterprise data sources
• Ensure data consistency, governance, and performance optimization

Advanced Analytics & Scripting
• Utilize IronPython scripting within Power BI environments for advanced analytics, automation, and custom processing where applicable
• Develop custom logic or integrations using scripting capabilities when required

AI-Driven Analytics (Mandatory)
• Actively use AI tools to accelerate report development, analytics, and data modeling
• Use AI to assist in:
o Query generation and optimization
o Data analysis and insight discovery
o Report design improvements
o Data quality validation
• Apply strong analytical judgment to validate AI-generated outputs

Performance, Governance & Security
• Optimize Power BI models for performance and scalability
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and governance controls
• Ensure compliance with data access policies and enterprise data governance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Skills
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development
• Strong experience with Power BI dashboards, datasets, and semantic models
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric
• Strong knowledge of DAX and Power Query
• Hands-on experience with DirectQuery, Import Mode, and Composite Models
• Experience working with Fabric Lakehouse and Delta Lake architectures
• Experience working with SQL-based data sources
• Experience using IronPython scripting in Power BI environments
• Proven usage of AI tools to improve analytics workflows and development productivity
• Experience with Azure data platforms (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, etc.)
• Exposure to data engineering pipelines and ETL processes
• Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise applications
