Sr Software Engineer (4+ yrs in Go Lang & React/ Next JS)

About the role:

This Senior Software Engineer role is a core individual contributor on one of three Scrum teams within the Peer Community product organization in Digital Product Technology (DPT). You will own feature delivery end-to-end, contribute to technical design, and help raise the overall quality and capability of your team. Gartner Peer Community is a peer-driven platform where thousands of verified enterprise leaders connect to share knowledge, ask questions, and provide peer feedback that helps inform technology and business decisions.

What you will do:

• Design and build high-quality features across mobile, web, or backend platforms with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.

• Take ownership of stories and epics from refinement through delivery, driving clarity on scope and acceptance criteria.

• Participate actively in technical design discussions and contribute meaningful input on architecture and implementation approaches.

• Write well-tested, well-documented code and hold a high bar in code review.

• Contribute to observability, alerting, and on-call practices to keep production systems healthy.

• Mentor and support engineers on the team, sharing knowledge and helping others grow.

• Collaborate with Product and Design to refine requirements and surface technical constraints early.

• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve engineering tooling and processes.

What you'll need:

Must have-

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.

• Strong proficiency in at least one of: React/Next.js, React Native, Go.

• Solid understanding of software design principles, testing practices, and delivery fundamentals.

• Experience contributing to production systems with observability, incident response, and on-call practices.

• Clear written and verbal communication with teammates, product managers, and stakeholders..

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Scalr).

• Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering patterns.

• Prior experience in distributed systems, high-traffic services, or data-intensive platforms.

• Familiarity with agile/scrum delivery models.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required

• Excellent communication skills.

• Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.

• Owns success – Takes responsibility for the successful delivery of the solutions.

• Strong desire to improve upon their skills in tools and technologies
