NetX is a leading provider of Digital Asset Management (DAM) software for museums, archives, and universities. They are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the foundational infrastructure that supports software development and deployment, while collaborating with Development and Operations teams to ensure product efficiency and scalability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and support systems within our platform toolchain, including GitLab, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and related technologies
- Support a growing fleet of SaaS deployments, including infrastructure, tools, configuration management, automation, and Identity & Access Management
- Work closely with Operations, Development, QA, and Support teams to ensure the success of new services
- Build and deploy solutions to recurring problems and requests — automate all the things
- Design and support projects ranging from small scripts to complex microservices
- Produce and maintain documentation and records relevant to areas of responsibility
- Advocate for improvements that benefit customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- 5+ years as an individual contributor on an IT operations or software engineering team where writing code was part of your role
- Professional experience with Linux (5+ years), Kubernetes (3+ years), and AWS (3+ years)
- High proficiency in Python and Bash
- Experience with automation, infrastructure as code, and configuration management
- Practical knowledge of Linux systems, cloud platforms (particularly AWS), networking, and containerization
- Development experience beyond small-scale scripting, with strong development hygiene and best practices
- Ability to identify challenges, design thoughtful solutions, articulate plans clearly, and execute effectively
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, low-hierarchy organization where ownership and visibility are high
- Expertise in Python, Kubernetes, and MySQL
- Experience with GitOps, CI/CD, and CloudFormation
- Java experience (highly desirable but not required)
- Experience writing and maintaining Bash scripts
- Previous knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) products and digital media systems/tools
