Senior Structural Engineer, Data Centers - Remote (U.S.)

They are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with expertise in data center design to lead structural projects, ensuring high-quality and code-compliant deliverables while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and perform structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation type facilities
• Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations
• Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and client standards
• Oversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality, code compliance, and technical excellence
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities to address technical queries and design clarifications
• Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits
• Travel, as needed, for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in building structures design and analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE)
• Experience specifically in data center, mission critical, or large scale logistics/industrial facilities
• Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, Safe, etc
• Experience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundation systems
• Demonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials and sustainable structural design approaches
• 3+ years of experience with data center facilities and familiarity of data center specific design standards and structural resiliency requirements
• LEED, Envision, or active leader in SE 2050 implementation
• Expertise in low embodied carbon materials, sustainable structural systems, and emerging industry best practices
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
• Ability to interpret and apply national and local building codes
