Application Security Engineer, Privacy

The Application Security Engineer, Privacy role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining privacy-enhancing features within applications to protect user data and ensure compliance with legal frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining privacy-enhancing features within applications to protect user data and comply with legal frameworks
• Conducting security assessments and identifying vulnerabilities
• Improving system defenses and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Contributing to creating privacy-compliant designs and ensuring data security across operations

Requirements:

• Knowledge of application security and privacy best practices, including threat modeling and vulnerability management
• Proficiency in secure coding principles and tools used for code analysis
• Experience with privacy standards, frameworks, and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
• Understanding of authentication protocols, encryption techniques, and data protection measures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, PMs, and legal experts
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CIPP, are a plus
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CIPP, or similar security and privacy credentials
• Experience working with privacy engineering, data governance, or secure system architecture
• Familiarity with security practices in AI-enabled or data-intensive systems
