StoryCenter is a participatory media organization dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through personal storytelling for equity, wellness, and social action. They are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media/Marketing Specialist to help expand their visibility, increase workshop attendance, and grow social media engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a targeted social media strategy to raise StoryCenter’s profile and increase engagement across platforms
- Support the creation and distribution of e-blasts and newsletters
- Create and maintain the StoryCenter communications kit and ensure consistent messaging
- Serve as a thought partner in planning media events and initiatives to enhance organizational visibility
- Create and update playlists on StoryCenter’s YouTube channel
- Support fundraising campaigns primarily through creating assets and social media posts
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing professional social media and marketing campaigns (portfolio or samples requested)
- Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills
- Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
- Experience using design and scheduling tools (e.g., Canva, Buffer, Hootsuite)
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Interest in digital storytelling, social justice, and nonprofit communications
- Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
