GrantWorks, Inc. is a growing grant management firm expanding services into multiple states. The Economic Development Project Manager is responsible for researching, preparing, and submitting grant applications to secure funding for clients' projects, as well as providing grant administration and project management services for awarded funding.
Responsibilities:
- Research and Identify Funding Opportunities
- Research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources
- Maintain an updated database of potential funding sources, including grant application deadlines and requirements
- Network with funding sources to stay updated on opportunities and trends in grant funding
- Grant Application & Proposal Development
- Provide clear and concise verbal and written guidance to clients and staff on program processes assuring compliance with 2.CFR.200 and other applicable federal rules and regulations
- Develop, write, and edit grant applications and proposals, ensuring they align with organizational goals and funder expectations
- Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to gather information and materials needed for applications and proposals
- Tailor grant narratives, budgets, and supporting materials to meet the requirements and expectations of funders
- Budget and Financial Compliance
- Work with the clients’ finance team and engineer to develop accurate and realistic grant budgets
- Ensure all financial aspects of applications and proposals comply with funding guidelines and organizational policies
- Monitor grant expenditures, timelines, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with donor expectations
- Grant Administration & Project Management
- Track grant application statuses, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure timely submissions
- Monitor project implementation and outcomes of funded projects
- Evaluate and determine compliance with federal, state, and local requirements specifically related to 2.CFR.200 especially associated with procurement
- Conduct reviews of all programs related documents to determine compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Prepare and submit required reports to local and federal funding sources on expenditures, grant progress, accomplishments, and impact
- Maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines related to program compliance elements associated with grant administration
- Business Development, Relationship Building and Stewardship
- Build and maintain relationships with government agency representatives, foundations, and corporations as appropriate
- Facilitate communication to provide updates on funded projects, address concerns, and discuss future opportunities
- Attend state, regional and national economic development conferences to market services
- Support the work of other GrantWorks staff and serve as a resource to those overseeing various projects
- Data Management and Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of client engagements, contracts, grant applications, proposals, award letters, reporting requirements, and related communications
- Conduct quality assurance procedures and reviews to produce accurate and complete work products
- Evaluate processes and related documents considering best practices, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Track and analyze grant performance metrics to improve the effectiveness of future proposals and engagements with clients
- Develop and report effective research techniques for evaluation of programs and policies
Requirements:
- Strong research, writing, and editing skills
- Ability to create detailed budgets and narratives
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to take initiative, prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Knowledge of federal government funding sources and grant compliance requirements
- Knowledge of laws, rules, policies, and procedures associated with federal grants, particularly 2.CFR.200 and procurement
- Experience writing and submitting successful federal grant applications
- Experience administering federal grant awards
- Ability to analyze, synthesize, and summarize complex and/or technical information
- Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with strong attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cordial working relationships across the organizational structure and with external stakeholders, clients, and constituents
- Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in business, public administration, accounting, communications, and/or related fields
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in federal grant administration, public administration, or economic development
- Related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
- Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and software including MS Office 365, CRMs, and other databases desired
- Knowledge of federal grants programs including EDA, USDA, Congressionally Directed Spending Grants, Appalachian Regional Commission, and/or Delta Regional Authority is desired
