Fortiva is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in civil engineering and project management to lead commercial and project controls for major infrastructure programs across the United States. The role involves client engagement, business development, and overseeing project delivery while managing budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with public and private sector infrastructure clients
- Support proposal development, fee strategies, and technical submissions
- Participate in client presentations, interviews, and pre-contract negotiations
- Identify growth opportunities within existing client accounts and programs
- Lead or support project controls, commercial management, and project oversight across infrastructure programs
- Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain CPM schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Monitor cash flow, earned value, and financial performance
- Support claims preparation, dispute resolution, and change management processes
- Oversee cost management, estimating, and financial projections
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, construction, and client teams
- Provide commercial and delivery insight during project planning and execution
- Support resource planning, risk management, and financial governance
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with contract requirements
- Act as a trusted technical and commercial advisor to both clients and internal leadership
Requirements:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering / Construction
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Strong Project Management background delivering infrastructure or construction projects
- Demonstrated experience delivering civil engineering / heavy infrastructure / construction projects
- Experience in Project Controls, Commercial Management, or Infrastructure Project Management
- Experience managing CPM scheduling, cost control, claims, estimating, and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of the construction lifecycle and infrastructure contract structures
- Experience working in client-facing environments
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification highly desirable
- Experience delivering projects in one or more of the following sectors: Roads & Highway Infrastructure, Bridges & Transportation Infrastructure, Water & Wastewater, Rail & Metro Systems, Marine & Coastal Infrastructure, Utilities Infrastructure, Mining Infrastructure, Heavy Civil / Transportation Programs
