The Ramp & Customer Service Agent plays a vital role in ensuring smooth airport operations and delivering outstanding guest experiences, assisting guests with travel needs and performing various aircraft servicing tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist guests with travel needs, including answering inquiries, baggage handling, ticketing, check-in, and boarding procedures in a high-energy environment
- Perform outdoor ramp functions such as transporting baggage and cargo, loading and offloading luggage, aircraft marshaling, aircraft pushback, and deicing activities, regardless of weather conditions
- Conduct aircraft grooming and security searches to maintain safety and compliance standards
- Manage boarding and gate operations, including assisting guests, making announcements, and processing standby and upgrade requests
- Secure and process guest luggage, maintain luggage claims, and handle issues related to damaged, delayed, or pilfered baggage
- Load and unload luggage and cargo using conveyor belts and other equipment efficiently and safely
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth airport operations
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with airline policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, territory, or the District of Columbia
- Capable of learning and operating computerized reservation systems
- Typing speed of at least 25 WPM
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds consistently and stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp as needed
- Basic mathematical skills for handling various operational tasks
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Participation in paid training, which may include overnight travel
- Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification and airport security clearance depending on work location
- At least 18 years old
- Authorized to work in the U.S
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of customer service or community service experience
