About this role
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Alchemy team. The role involves designing, automating, and optimizing AWS cloud infrastructure while supporting mission-critical SaaS applications in the food manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, building, and maintaining AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) for production and development environments
- Implementing CI/CD pipelines that enable seamless, low-downtime deployments
- Automating infrastructure builds using CloudFormation, CDK, and scripting in YAML, JSON, or Python
- Enhancing system monitoring to detect and resolve performance issues proactively
- Supporting developers with infrastructure needs across staging, development, and sandbox environments
- Performing backup and recovery operations, while resolving complex AWS-related technical issues
- Collaborating with management, product owners, and engineering teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
- Documenting solutions and procedures to support knowledge-sharing across the team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of technology experience with at least 2 years as a DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or SRE in a public cloud environment
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Control Tower, etc.)
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD tools
- Proficiency in scripting (YAML, JSON, Python)
- Working knowledge of GitHub and version control best practices
- Understanding of PHP, MySQL, and Snowflake
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Customer-focused and quality-driven mindset
- AWS certifications such as Certified DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator, or Advanced Networking
- Experience migrating SaaS applications from on-premises to cloud environments
