The Lead Project Engineer will oversee the execution of complex hardware and software systems on airborne platforms, manage technical program development, and lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure program success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to execute program objectives efficiently and effectively
- Provide technical leadership to resolve design, integration, and development challenges related to electronic attack mission systems and Digital ICS products
- Develop and oversee detailed program plans, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Track and report engineering performance metrics, providing monthly status updates to senior leadership
- Manage program risks through proactive identification and mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with all performance, safety, and reliability standards throughout the program lifecycle
- Coordinate bid and proposal activities, ensuring adherence to engineering policies and processes
- Act as the primary technical interface with customers, maintaining strong communication and relationship management at all phases of the program
- Monitor cost and schedule performance, explaining variances and developing corrective actions to meet program targets
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance program execution efficiency
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of experience
- Candidates with no degree but with 13 or more years of related experience are also eligible
- Demonstrated expertise in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Strong understanding of engineering processes and policies
- Experience in Aircraft Integration, Testing, and Delivery
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) clearance
- Leadership experience in roles such as Task Leader or IPT Leader
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Proficiency in one or more of the following disciplines—software/hardware engineering, systems engineering, or project engineering
