
The Chaplain offers pastoral care to patients, families, and staff. He/she maintains a professional relationship with hospital personnel. The Chaplain may be required to take call during the evenings, on weekends and holidays and must be available to respond during emergencies. The Chaplain responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
5 years pastoral ministry required.
Endorsement by a recognized faith community and ordination by a recognized faith community.
EDUCATION:
Those already hired without CPE must complete unit-based competency validations and mandatory trainings within 18 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
2 years’ experience in hospital setting preferred
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Master’s of Divinity from a seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools preferred or a similarly credentialed accrediting agency, or its equivalent as determined by the Association of Professional Chaplains preferred
Clinical Pastoral Education (1 unit preferred)
