Commercial Analyst
Position Summary
The Commercial Analyst is responsible for the development and maintenance of select commercial tools, primarily focused on the customer forecast consolidation and commercial data management and reporting. Responsibilities include updates and modifications to the existing tools, to support the requirements of the business.
Principle Responsibilities
- Monthly Customer Forecast Consolidation
- Review and process all incoming customer forecasts
- Follow up with account owners when forecasts are not received or become out of date
- Maintain the input configuration files and complete the monthly consolidation process
- Identify forecast gaps and work with the commercial teams and customers directly to obtain additional customer forecasts
- Analyze forecast accuracy and develop tracking tools for both internal and external customers
- Data Management and Reporting
- Build dashboards and reports using tools like Salesforce, Excel, and Power BI
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy for decision-making
- Monthly Business Reporting
- Monthly Business Review (MBR) data and slides owner
- Sales Battleplan data owner
- Any other monthly commercial reporting as required
- Work Aids and Training for Commercial Team
- Existing work aid maintenance/modification owner
- Provide training as necessary for all sales systems processes/upgrades
- New commercial team employee training (limited to sales systems)
- Other responsibilities
- New SKU program mapping
- Weekly Top Opportunity review meeting process owner
- Customer portal maintenance
- Owner of the commercial employee exit checklist
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year university required
- Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in commercial sales within the medical device industry or a related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Leadership acumen: Demonstrated ability to think clearly and make sound business and personnel decisions
- Analytical skills: Ability to define problems, collect and analyze relevant data, draw valid conclusions, and recommend corrective or improvement actions
- Strong communication skills: Effective verbal, written, and presentation abilities to communicate process improvements to diverse audiences
- Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Planning and organization: Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, manage time efficiently, set goals, and develop realistic action plans
- Business partnering: Proven ability to act as a strategic partner with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
- Technical proficiency:
- Working knowledge of personal computers and standard business software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of ERP and CRM systems; experience with Salesforce strongly preferred
- Strong sense of privacy, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to travel globally up to 25% of the time, as determined by manager
- Proactively takes initiative beyond formal job responsibilities
