Northern Iron is looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner Supervisor to join our foundry team. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong planning, scheduling, and leadership skills in a heavy industrial environment.
You’ll be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities, leading a team of technicians, managing parts and resources, and using a CMMS to drive long-term maintenance strategies and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with Production and other departments to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

What are the hours and pay?- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Pay: $36 – $42 per hour, depending on experience
What is the job?To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.Key Responsibilities include:Planning & Scheduling- Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance using a CMMS
- Coordinate with Production to minimize downtime and align with business needs
- Create preliminary and final weekly maintenance schedules
Resource Management- Ensure parts, materials, and external services are available for planned work
- Manage ordering, receiving, stocking, and inventory control of maintenance parts and supplies
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the CMMS
Team & Personnel Management- Supervise, lead, and manage maintenance technicians
- Train new technicians and oversee job execution
Coordination & Communication- Act as the liaison between Maintenance, Production, and Management
- Communicate job status, schedule changes, and part availability
- Conduct job site inspections and walk-throughs to identify needs and potential issues
Strategy & Continuous Improvement- Use CMMS data and analysis to improve maintenance strategies
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
What do you bring to the job?- Previous experience in a heavy industrial maintenance planner / supervisory role (required)
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in inventory and supply chain management
- Experience with CMMS and maintenance management software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Education & Experience- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
- 3–5 years of related experience required
- Heavy industrial maintenance planning/supervisory experience required
- Journeyman’s License preferred
