Title: Therapist
Reports to: Director of Telehealth
Department/Location: Remote, Licensed in Massachusetts (LICSW/LMHC)
Requirements and Schedule:
- Licensure: Must be Independently licensed (LICSW or LMHC) as a therapist in the state of Massachusetts.
- Highly preferred 3 years post independent licensure experience. Seeking experience in IOP/PHP settings.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Role Summary:
Virtual Therapists are responsible for providing high-quality care and therapeutic services to individuals dealing with various behavioral issues. The therapist will use telehealth to facilitate 1:1 and group therapy, develop and implement treatment plans, conduct assessments, and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver effective behavioral health interventions.
Role Responsibilities/Competencies:
- Conduct psychological and biopsychosocial assessments and evaluations to determine clients' needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy.
- Monitor and document clients' progress and adjust treatment plans to create a cohesive case conceptualization.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical doctors, to provide comprehensive and continuity of care.
- Completes suicide risk assessment within identified time frames and with appropriate thoroughness and scoring while consulting with clinical leaders.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews determining length of stay and level of care.
- Assess and identify community resources based on clients needs during treatment/ aftercare planning.
- Adhere to all standardized Group Curriculum and Treatment Planning.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health and behavioral issues while building supportive and trusting relationships
- Comes prepared to weekly clinical supervision with relevant client updates, case formulations, and questions to support high-quality care.
- Adhere to all confidentiality and ethical guidelines as outlined by professional standards and laws.
- Stay updated on the latest research and developments in behavioral therapy and mental health.

- Provide clinical supervision to Associate Licensed clinicians as appropriate/needed
- Ability to serve as point of contact for emergencies if/when Executive Director is offsite
- Participate in the hiring process of teammates as well as serving as mentor for new therapists
Required Qualifications
- A master's degree in psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid Massachusetts independent licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor or equivalent
- Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licenses, as requested
- Demonstrated experience providing behavioral therapy, counseling and group therapy.
- Ability to manage clients effectively in virtual settings, including adapting interventions to a telehealth environment.
- Comfort and competence with technology, including navigating HIPAA-compliant video platforms, EMRs, and virtual collaboration tools.
- Strong engagement skills in a virtual space (ability to build rapport, maintain group cohesion, and intervene effectively when clients disengage).
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn telehealth best practices, including crisis response and safety planning in a remote setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while staying closely connected to a distributed virtual team.
- Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive virtual group culture that mirrors the Guidelight client experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience facilitating group therapy in an IOP/PHP/RES/IP setting.
- Experience working virtually
- 3 years' experience post independent licensure
