The Sr. Associate, Network Planning Engineer will support large-scale network infrastructure projects, focusing on the planning, installation, configuration, and activation of telecommunications equipment and network services.
Responsibilities:
- Executing and documenting formal acceptance testing of FTI products and services in accordance with program requirements
- Installing, configuring, and testing FTI telecommunications equipment
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEEE, ITU, TIA, and ISO
- Troubleshooting IP network configurations
- Supporting coordination with telecommunications providers
- Managing site access for Harris field technicians
- Collaborating closely with the FTI Engineering team to resolve implementation and acceptance issues
- Executing coordinated maintenance requests
- Supporting engineering changes
- Performing service disconnects as needed
- Supporting flexible work schedules, including possible rotations to second or third shifts, to meet project demands
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 0 to 2 years of experience
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience without a degree is also considered
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing IP network configurations
- Strong understanding of IP and MPLS network architectures
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
- Familiarity with leading network vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, and RAD
- Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings, technical procedures, and project management principles
- Certification such as CCNA or equivalent experience
- Intermediate troubleshooting skills in IP networking
