Senior Principal Supplier Quality Engineer – Micro-Electronics/FPA

BAE Systems, Inc. is an international defense, aerospace and security company focused on delivering advanced technology solutions. They are seeking a Senior Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to support the THAAD Development program, ensuring supplier quality and process robustness while collaborating with engineering and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop robust and highly capable supplier processes that support THAAD production and deliver consistent conforming material on-time
• Perform and Evaluate First Article Inspections per the requirements of AS9102 as well as train suppliers to meet BAE Systems expectations
• Partner with the Category Supplier Quality team on problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances, with the ability to lead suppliers through complete RCCA to find root cause and solve complex technical problems
• Perform Production Process Verifications (PPV's) at supplier locations and participate in PPAP review process and other aspects of APQP
• Flow down contractual requirements to suppliers based on QMS / part / risk / customer requirements via quality clausing codes
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and program quality to identify part and supplier risk for proactive mitigation activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with 6-8+ years of related experience or 10-12+ years of experience in lieu of degree
• Experience with development programs and/or qualification of new suppliers in support of development efforts
• Experience/knowledge with IR Focal Plane Array/semiconductor manufacturing. Knowledge of semiconductor wafer processes and related chemicals
• Experience/knowledge in photonics / semiconductor packaging, as well as in semiconductor assembly processes, such as die bonding, hybridization, wire-bonding, and assembly
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, specifications, requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical field
• Strong understanding of Quality Science tools (APQP/PPAP, 8D RCCA, Statistical Process Controls, Lean Six Sigma – BB preferred)
• Experience with NetInspect for PPAP/FAI
• Working knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent Quality Management Systems
• Active Secret clearance
