HP Unix engineer

Raas Infotek is a company seeking an HP Unix Engineer to provide end-to-end L3 support for HP-UX systems. The role involves managing OS patching, firmware updates, and handling complex performance issues while ensuring efficient system operations and client collaboration for design and optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end L3 support for HP-UX 11i v2/v3 on PA-RISC & Itanium platforms
• Manage OS patching, kernel tuning, firmware updates, and OS hardening
• Handle complex issues related to memory, CPU, I/O, performance bottlenecks, and core OS components
• Create and manage nPars, vPars, Integrity VM (I-VM)
• Plan and execute capacity expansion for partitions and virtual environments
• Configure and administer HP ServiceGuard (MC/SG) clusters
• Perform cluster package scripting, failover testing, DR simulation, and cluster troubleshooting
• Work on HP storage systems (P9500, EVA, XP series) and perform LUN provisioning
• Execute host-based and storage-based SAN migrations
• Improve efficiency of system operations and reduce manual intervention
• Provide SME-level guidance for platform modernization, migration, and performance tuning
• Participate in planning for DC migration, consolidation, and system refresh
• Work with clients for design, capacity planning, and optimization
• Handle priority incidents and RCA for repeated issues
• Prepare implementation plans, rollback procedures, SOPs, and documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle production pressure and critical outages

Requirements:

• Experience required on HP-UX 11i v3 OS Level Supporting
• Firmware update by online and offline on C7000 Enclosure
• LVM File System Administration
• Required experience on DL, RX, RP, ML, C7000 Blade Enclosures
• Experience required on HP-UX Ignite Server configuration & Restoration on HP-UX Servers
• Experience required configure and administer HP ServiceGuard (MC/SG) clusters
• IT professional with 10 + years of experience and a mix of technical and process skills
