About this role
NextGen, a subsidiary of Kelly Telecom, is seeking an experienced RF / GIS Engineer to support RAN engineering initiatives focused on spectrum deployment analysis and regulatory compliance. The role involves analyzing RF coverage data, processing geospatial datasets, and preparing technical documentation for regulatory filings related to wireless network coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze RF propagation and network coverage data to validate wireless network performance
- Ensure compliance with FCC spectrum buildout requirements such as population coverage milestones
- Review spectrum license blocks (including 3.45 GHz spectrum ) across PEA markets
- Process RF coverage and transmitter data from RF planning tools such as ATOLL
- Execute and monitor automated geospatial workflows using Alteryx
- Investigate discrepancies in coverage calculations and coordinate updates with RF engineering teams
- Generate coverage maps and geospatial layouts using MapInfo
- Prepare documentation packages including shapefiles, coverage summaries, and site data for regulatory submissions
- Support engineering review and assist with final FCC spectrum compliance filings
Requirements:
- Experience with RF coverage analysis and wireless propagation modeling
- Hands-on experience with RF planning tools such as ATOLL
- Experience with GIS platforms such as MapInfo
- Knowledge of geospatial datasets including shapefiles and coverage layers
- Ability to analyze transmitter/site data and population coverage metrics
- Experience preparing technical documentation for regulatory or compliance submissions
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, GIS, Geospatial Science, or a related technical field
- Equivalent industry experience may also be considered
- Experience with Alteryx or similar data processing/automation tools
- Understanding of FCC spectrum deployment and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting wireless network deployment projects
