Senior Software Engineer, Android - Retail

Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world. They are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to define, design, build, and maintain software solutions for their Retail POS team, enhancing the user experience and ensuring the efficiency of core ordering, inventory, and payment workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with UX, PM, QA and other engineers building the POS for Retail
• Ensure quality by building automated testing for changes
• Be a driving force in the full software development lifecycle, from design and prototyping to deployment and maintenance
• Ensure robustness, performance, and reliability of the POS
• Provide technical guidance and support through code reviews and design discussions
• Work closely with the leads to identify high-impact opportunities
• Plan, scope and rapidly prototype solutions using a combination of web technologies
• Make technical decisions and recommendations that will lay the foundation for the future of our strategy
• Stay in tune with customer needs by participating in user interviews and research
• Leverage cutting edge AI tools to enhance your development workflow, improve velocity, and help pioneer new approaches to building - contributing to a culture of innovation and productivity across the team

Requirements:

• Highly proficient in all aspects of native Android development with Kotlin
