Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate all production activities during the third shift in a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment.
- Lead, motivate, and develop machine operators, material handlers, and support personnel to ensure safe and productive operations.
- Monitor production performance including output, scrap, downtime, and machine efficiency; address issues to maintain production schedules.
- Coordinate mold changes, machine start-ups, and production adjustments with technicians and maintenance teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies, quality standards, and work instructions while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Identify and troubleshoot production or process issues and work with the team to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Manage staffing levels, address attendance issues, and adjust work assignments to maintain production flow.
- Complete shift documentation and production reports and communicate key information to incoming leadership teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of fast paced manufacturing leadership or commensurate experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for production reporting and data tracking.
- Ability to analyze production data, including scrap, downtime, and efficiency metrics.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with ability to motivate and coach team members.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to make independent operational decisions during overnight shift operations.
- Experience managing staffing, attendance, and work assignments to maintain production flow.
- Commitment to workplace safety and enforcement of safety procedures/policies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of managing multiple priorities at once.
- Dynamic self-starter with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Functional ERP system knowledge (IQMS experience preferred)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in thermoplastic injection molding preferred.
- Knowledge of injection mold machines, tools, plastics, and robotics.
- Mechanical aptitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position is located in a manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and standing for long periods of time, in addition to lifting up to 50lbs.
