Staten Island Construction is seeking an energetic candidate to fill the position of Work Organizer supporting Staten Island Overhead and Overhead Contractor. The selected applicant will be required to provide a work plan for field crews that is efficient, takes into consideration priority, O&M, Capital and Retirement budgetary constraints, due dates, crewing capability, work that can be linked with other work in the same area and ensures prerequisites are addressed. The successful candidate must possess a clear understanding of storm work, Energy Services workflows, and other emergent electric work.
Core Responsibilities- Ensure all work complies with Company safety, health, environmental, and business conduct standards, including EH&S and EEO requirements.
- Collaborate with Work Organizers, Schedulers, and Project Management to develop and maintain an agreedupon work plan.
- Set and adjust daily and weekly priorities based on service dates, PSC requirements, system impact, emergencies, and budget constraints.
- Plan and assign crews by reviewing training, vacation schedules, vehicle availability, and supervisor input.
- Communicate staffing availability and schedule impacts with local management, supervisors, and fellow schedulers.
- Track job progress through daily field coordination, documenting completed work, delays, and changes to planned schedules.
- Monitor material, vehicle, and prerequisite readiness, escalating shortages or constraints that affect execution.
- Schedule and manage site preinspections, addressing access, safety, and changing field conditions as needed.
- Update metrics and analyze completion data, seasonal trends, and work volumes to improve scheduling effectiveness.
- Coordinate with feeder scheduling and outage planning to align work with system needs and minimize disruptions.
- Support emergency response efforts and Incident Command System mobilization when required.
- Foster a culture of integrity, transparency, and continuous improvement while supporting Electric Operations goals for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Required Education/Experience- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant work experience or
- Associate's Degree and 5 years of relevant work experience or
- High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience- Supervisory experience of Electric Operations field employees Required
- 3 years experience in Overhead Construction Required
- Experience with Microsoft Project Preferred
- Experience with Project Management Preferred
- Dependency management experience, specifically identifying and managing work effort dependencies
- Preferred
- Work experience in multiple Electric Construction or Electric Operations discipline is preferred including FOD, SSM, Tech Services, Overhead, Underground, Underground Residential Distribution and Networks Preferred
- Experience planning and scheduling work Preferred

Additional Physical Demands- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
