SUMMARY
The Safety & Training Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety and training programs that promote a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace. This role partners closely with operations leadership to proactively identify hazards, reduce workplace risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
The supervisor leads safety initiatives, oversees employee training programs, manages incident investigations, and maintains regulatory documentation. Through effective training, communication, and data analysis, this role drives continuous improvement in workplace safety and employee development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Safety Program Management
- Conduct regular safety inspections, facility audits, equipment evaluations, and PPE compliance checks to identify potential hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve site safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Partner with operations leadership to promote a proactive safety culture and reinforce safe work practices across all departments.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and internal standards.
Training & Development
- Design, implement, and evaluate employee training programs including new hire safety orientation, job-specific technical training, and emergency preparedness.
- Deliver classroom, on-the-job, and hands-on training sessions for employees, supervisors, and leads.
- Develop training materials including manuals, visual aids, and digital learning resources.
- Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and team leads on effective training techniques and employee development practices.
- Coordinate or facilitate external training programs and professional development opportunities with approval from the Plant Manager and Human Resources.
Incident Investigation & Compliance
- Lead investigations for workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine root causes.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to mitigate future risk.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation including incident reports, training records, certifications, and OSHA logs.
- Track safety metrics and analyze incident data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Human Resources, Industrial Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of safety, training, or operations experience in a manufacturing, production, or supply chain environment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
- Experience developing or delivering employee training programs preferred.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a manufacturing or production environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Role requires walking production areas, conducting inspections, and occasional lifting or standing for extended periods.
