The Specialty Clinic Receptionist/Scheduler is responsible for answering the telephones, scheduling patient visits, greeting patients/visitors, and relaying accurate messages to the clinic staff. The Receptionist/Scheduler requires excellent telephone technique, the ability to perform multiple office duties in an efficient and timely manner, coordinate an effective communication system, maintain a pleasant demeanor with clients, hospital and other professional staff, and demonstrate superior organizational skills.
Requirements:
- Completion of a 2 year post high school degree in office support services or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience with typing and computer use.
- Two years experience in a medical office setting working, preferred.
- Must be able to work under supervision and independently, competently following orders professionally and confidentially.
- Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with behavioral health clients and staff both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrates legible penmanship.
- Demonstrates high standards of performance, pleasantness, and courtesy. Has professional appearance and demeanor.
- Demonstrates high quality telephone etiquette.
- Ability to use Windows based computer programs.
- Must be able to use independent problem solving techniques.
- Must be able to adjust to change and frequent interruptions; must be able to meet deadlines as required and to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Must have current knowledge of or ability to learn electronic scheduling software applications within 3 weeks of hire.
