
2026 Summer Teen Employment Program (S.T.E.P.)
City of Greeley
May 14th – July 31, 2026 (10-week program)
OBJECTIVE: This program enables youth to develop a foundation in seeking, applying, and obtaining employment. It also provides youth with acceptance of the responsibilities of employment.
NOTE: Youth MUST be enrolled in high school, between the ages of 14-15 as of May 14th, 2026, AND a City of Greeley resident to be able to participate in the S.T.E.P. program.
Pay will be $14.81 per hour.
Positions available:
Parks Division Cemetery: All outdoor work centered around ground maintenance activities in Linn Grove Cemetery, as well as assisting in the office periodically with light office duties. Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:30 am-11:30 am
Island Grove: All outdoor work centered around ground maintenance activities in Island Grove Park and Island Grove arena. Hours: Monday-Sunday 7:00 am-7:00 pm Shifts vary.
Parks and Ballfields: All outdoor work centered around ground maintenance activities in park areas and athletic fields. Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:00 am-11:00 am
Forestry: All outdoor work centered around ground maintenance activities in park areas and athletic fields. Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:00 am-11:00 am
Golf: The position will involve keeping the maintenance shop clean and swept. The candidate will also make sure the clubhouse area and parking lot are free from trash and weeds. The flower beds will be watered and weeded. Other duties will include repairing ball marks on greens, filling divots on tee boxes and the driving range. Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00-11:00 am
Recreation Division Aquatics: Do you enjoy working in an aquatic environment? This position assists with the daily operations of a pool and providing a safe environment. Job duties include assisting with swimming lessons, facility maintenance and pool cleanliness. Assist pool managers and Recreation Supervisor with other duties as assigned. Must be able to rotate morning and afternoon shifts. Hours: Monday-Sunday: 9:00 am-12:00 pm; 12:00 pm-5:00 pm
Family Funplex: This position works closely with the FunPlex Guest Service Representative Staff. Staff can expect to greet and assist guests, set up events and parties, run birthday party activities, hand out equipment, conduct facility tours, run drop-in programming, assist in our child watch area, and more. This position also helps maintain the facility's general cleanliness and ensures that guests follow facility procedures. If you are interested in customer service experience, this is the role for you! Hours: Monday-Sunday: 8:00 – 6:00pm; shifts vary
Concessions: This position is a great introduction to the workforce and customer service! Participants will assist with basic concession stand operations including greeting guests, taking orders, handling cash transactions, preparing and serving prepackaged food and beverages, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Staff will work under close supervision while learning teamwork, responsibility, and workplace skills. Hours: Afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts; schedules vary based on events and facility needs.
Recreation Center: This position is a great introduction into customer service! You will assist staff with the daily facility operations including greeting and assisting members and guests, conducting facility tours, provide information on memberships and programs. and enrolling participants into programs. Hours: 8:00 am-5:00 pm; shifts vary
Rodarte Community Center and Anna Gimmestad Community Center: Would you enjoy working with youth between the ages of 5-13 years old at the Rodarte Community Center and Anna Gimmestad Community Center? This job includes assisting staff with daily programming, setting up activities, supervising participants and other duties as assigned. Must be able to swim. Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:45 am – 5:15 pm, shifts vary.
Natural Areas and Trails: Tasks may include gathering site information in designated natural areas, such as documenting plants and animals at the site, recreation activity on site, helping with basic site maintenance including non-chemical weed control, site cleanup tasks, building fences and public outreach/engagement. Associated activities may include manual labor, writing, research, photography, videography, GIS mapping, talking to community members, and other similar activities. Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 am- 3:30pm, shifts vary.
