Description
The Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing is responsible for executing and advancing strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives that support business growth, diversification, and cost optimization. This role translates enterprise sourcing strategy into actionable category and supplier plans and serves as a key link between corporate strategy and operational execution. Reporting to the Global Strategic Sourcing Director, this position owns category execution, supplier performance, and leadership of tactical procurement resources, while partnering closely with plant operations and cross-functional stakeholders.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Develop, execute, and continuously improve sourcing and category management strategies aligned with enterprise and business objectives
· Analyze procurement costs and market dynamics; recommend and implement cost-reduction and value-creation initiatives
· Identify and evaluate sourcing opportunities through industry research, market intelligence, and supplier engagement
· Lead supplier negotiations and manage commercial terms, contracts, and agreements
· Review and manage existing supplier contracts to ensure ongoing commercial and operational feasibility
· Build and maintain effective, long-term supplier relationships
· Assess, manage, and mitigate supplier and supply chain risks; develop continuity and contingency plans
· Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on specifications and sourcing priorities
· Perform cost, scenario, and benchmarking analyses to support sourcing decisions
· Translate enterprise sourcing strategy into executable category and supplier plans
· Serve as the primary escalation point for procurement and supplier-related issues
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, tools, and governance
· Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
· Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or related supply chain roles, with demonstrated responsibility for supplier management and commercial outcomes
· Proven experience leading supplier negotiations and managing contracts and agreements
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex data, cost drivers, and market trends
· Experience leading, mentoring, or managing procurement, sourcing, or buyer-level resources
· Proficiency in procurement systems, ERP platforms, and analytical tools
· Strong strategic thinking, planning, and execution capabilities
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and plant-based teams
· Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CPSM, CSCP)
Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
