R&D Engineer
This is a high-impact role requiring a strategic mix of design-level intuition and rigorous testing discipline across the entire product lifecycle.
The Mission
As a core member of the development team, you will bridge the gap between initial concept and market readiness. You will not only find and troubleshoot design issues but will act as a key collaborator in refining hardware and software to ensure "first-time-right" manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Full Lifecycle Ownership: Design and execute comprehensive hardware/software test plans for embedded PCB systems, managing units from early-stage prototypes (POC/EVT/DVT) through to production-ready status.
Operational Excellence: Lead Quality Assurance (QA) efforts, maintain the internal Quality Management System (QMS), oversee prototype tracking, and manage hardware release controls.
Hands-On Lab Leadership: Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, dynamometers) to perform root cause analysis and build custom functional testers for production builds.
Design for Excellence: Review schematics and high-speed digital/analog layouts, partnering with hardware and software teams to document manufacturing issues and drive continuous process improvement.
Compliance Stewardship: Support the certification journey for diverse industries, conducting gap analyses and overseeing pre-compliance testing.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Experience: Proven track record in the full product lifecycle (Hardware + Software) and a deep comfort level in a collaborative, high-variety R&D environment.
Technical Savvy: Skilled in troubleshooting complex PCBA layouts and integrating hardware with wired/wireless communication technologies.
Attributes: A continuous learner who can work independently while effectively communicating technical risks and requirements to both management and customers.
