Tazapay is the financial technology platform of choice for cross-border businesses. We offer local and global collections, holding and payouts in over 70 markets. Our partners do not need to create local entities and we offer the compliance framework to take care of local regulations and requirements. This results in decreased transaction costs, forex transparency and higher authorization rates.
At Tazapay, product development is an extremely collaborative effort between engineering, design, partnerships, legal, risk, operations and go-to-market teams. The Issuing Platform team owns the end-to-end card issuing infrastructure that powers Tazapay's global issuance capabilities, including card lifecycle management, transaction processing, programme controls, and spend management.
This is a technically deep and commercially critical team, responsible for ensuring that Tazapay's issuing platform is reliable, compliant, and extensible — enabling businesses across markets to embed card programmes into their operations with minimal friction.
As the product owner for the Issuing Platform, you will be deeply embedded in the implementation of Tazapay's card issuing capabilities — working directly with card networks, issuer processors, and banking partners to get programmes live and operating reliably across markets.
Your responsibilities include:
Work hands-on with issuer processors (e.g. Marqeta, Episode6, Thredd, or similar) and card networks (Visa, Mastercard) to integrate, configure, and operationalise card issuing programmes.
Drive the end-to-end implementation of card issuing features — card issuance, lifecycle management, transaction authorisation flows, and programme controls — from requirements through to production.
Translate card network rules, processor capabilities, and compliance requirements into precise product and technical specifications for engineering teams.
Work closely with engineering throughout the build — reviewing API contracts, validating implementation against specifications, and ensuring nothing gets lost between design and delivery.
Define and own the API surface for the issuing platform — including card issuance, controls, and transaction webhooks — ensuring it is ergonomic, well-documented, and extensible.
Define merchant-facing controls and configurations — including spend limits, merchant category controls, transaction rules, and card programme parameters.
Collaboratively partner with legal, risk, compliance, and go-to-market teams to ensure programmes meet regulatory requirements across markets.
Support commercial and partnership teams in solutioning card programmes for enterprise clients and embedded finance use cases globally.
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
At least 3–5 years of product management or product ownership experience, with direct exposure to card issuing, card processors, or card networks (Visa, Mastercard, or equivalent).
Hands-on experience working with issuers, processors, or within an issuing programme — you understand how authorisation, clearing, and settlement actually work.
Strong grasp of card programme mechanics including BIN sponsorship, scheme rules, transaction lifecycle, dispute and chargeback flows, and card controls.
Strong API fluency — you are comfortable reading API documentation, reviewing API specs, and have a clear sense of what makes an API well-designed and developer-friendly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear product requirements.
An ownership mindset — you work on whatever it takes to solve problems and ship reliable outcomes.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with the ability to drive clarity from first principles.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience working at a card issuer, issuer processor, BIN sponsor bank, or embedded finance platform.
Ability to engage deeply with engineering on technical architecture decisions — comfortable reviewing API contracts, reading system design docs, and contributing meaningfully to technical trade-off discussions.
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements relevant to card issuing across multiple markets.
Experience with spend management, corporate cards, or card programmes.
Proven track record of delivering and scaling financial products in a cross-functional environment.
