DirectDefense is a cybersecurity consulting firm seeking a Project Manager to coordinate multiple client engagements. The role involves managing client-facing cybersecurity service engagements from kickoff through completion, ensuring projects run smoothly and clients have a positive experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of 10–16 concurrent client engagements, often with short delivery timelines
- Serve as the primary project manager and delivery lead for assigned engagements, coordinating client communication, scheduling, and engagement logistics
- Ensure projects remain aligned with scope, schedules, and contractual expectations
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and engagement schedules
- Coordinate internal staffing with Practice Managers and consultants to ensure appropriate resources are assigned
- Track milestones and deliverables and proactively address scheduling risks
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients and internal teams throughout each engagement
- Facilitate kickoff meetings, status updates, and client communications to ensure transparency and alignment
- Manage expectations and facilitate resolution of issues when they arise
- Identify potential risks, resource conflicts, or delivery challenges early and coordinate solutions with internal teams
- Escalate issues when appropriate and help drive resolution to keep engagements on track
- Ensure project deliverables meet agreed-upon timelines and quality standards
- Coordinate final documentation, stakeholder sign-off, and project closure activities
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to improvements in delivery processes
- Partner closely with consultants, Practice Managers, Operations, and Sales to support successful service delivery
- Collaborate with Sales during engagement handoff to ensure a smooth transition from contract signature to project kickoff
- Contribute feedback and ideas that help improve project management processes and delivery operations as the PMO continues to mature
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 4–8 years of project management experience in professional services, consulting, or client delivery environments
- Experience managing multiple concurrent client engagements in a professional services environment, often with overlapping timelines
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-facing approach
- Ability to coordinate work across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience in cybersecurity, IT services, consulting, or SaaS environments
- Experience working with PSA or project management platforms such as Salesforce-based tools, Mission Control, Certinia, or similar systems
- Experience supporting the delivery of consulting or professional services engagements in client-facing environments
- Understanding of technical or security-related project environments
- Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent)
