Oracle is the world’s leading provider of business software, and they are seeking an Advanced Degree Software Engineer in Database Technologies. This role is designed for new graduates with advanced degrees who will contribute to the development of database technologies that power critical systems used globally.
Responsibilities:
- The Database Engineering Team is responsible for full stack development of a family of databases including Oracle NoSQL Database, Oracle Times-Ten In-Memory Database, and the industry-leading Oracle Database itself
- This is a systems-focused group that works on areas such as distributed databases, substantial scalability, high availability, security, analytics, data warehousing, automatic parallelization, networking, replication, distributed caching, transaction engines, data engines, SQL execution, query optimization, and language design
- The team develops in-database machine-learning and AI algorithms both to help our customers improve their business, and to make our own products autonomous
- In addition, this group is also responsible for working on Oracle Engineered Systems which provide utmost performance and availability using technologies such as Persistent Memory and RDMA
Requirements:

- Completed a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent science/engineering field between by August 2026
- Are strongly proficient (i.e., able to complete coding projects with no assistance) in the following programming languages: C, C++ and Java
- Have the ability to implement sophisticated algorithms and data structures in very complex systems with the highest quality
- Have completed coursework, projects, internships, and or research three or more of the following Systems Programming related areas: Computer Architecture / Software Architecture, Distributed Systems, Database Systems / Database Internals (Storage Engine), Multithreaded/Multicore programming/Concurrent programming, Parallel Programming, Operating Systems Concepts
- Have completed at least one internship, research assistantship, teaching assistantship, or equivalent practical experience working with the relevant technical areas noted above
- Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US
- Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2026
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
