Westinghouse Electric Company is a leader in providing clean energy solutions, and they are seeking a Program Manager for their Space & Defense sector. This role involves overseeing the implementation of contracts related to heat pipe reactors for government applications, managing partnerships, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee development of contracts for WGS supporting heat pipe reactors, including collaboration on scope and estimates
- PM project delivery and coordinate with team members as relevant
- Manage selected subcontractors' contracts to include quality, timeliness and budget on deliverables
- Communicate program updates with internal leadership, and external partners such as the Department of Energy or Department of Defense
- Manage the interface between engineering, testing, and other customer goals
- Support technical leaders in the development of the heat pipe development plan
- Lead team of engineers from multiple disciplines, supply chain, and technicians to implement heat pipe reactor technology development plans
- Establish relationships with partners that meets each party's needs and agreed outcomes
- Build capacity and knowledge of each partner to ensure outcomes by defining lines of communication
- Identify partner issues, interests, and concerns to better define program agreement and provide direct technical input/feedback to the engineering team
- Maintain partner relationships once established through regular communication activities
- Provide leadership perspective on options and recommendations
- Deliver program updates to senior leadership
- Track execution of program cost to the plan including development of forecasts and reporting on monthly financials
- Develop schedules associated with the heat pipe reactor technology program
Requirements:
- B. Sc. degree in Engineering or other technical-related area
- U.S. Citizenship required
- 10 + years of experience in Program and Contract management
- PMI Program Manager program certification
- Program and Contract management skills
- Track record delivering quality on time and within predictable cost controls
- General knowledge of nuclear industry and related associations
- Organizational experience with planning, budgeting, operations and goals
- Knowledge of team building, planning techniques, business management principles and practices
- Experience developing partner engagement plans in both private and public sectors
- Experience with ITAR, technology control plans, CUI and other defense requirements
