$30.70 - $46.05The Department of Biostatistics and Data Science (BDS), Wake Forest School of Medicine, is seeking a mid-level web application developer (3–5 years of experience) to join our growing team. BDS develops and supports web-based data management tools and clinical research platforms for federally-funded studies, giving developers the opportunity to work on meaningful, technically challenging problems that directly support biomedical research. Our team is actively modernizing our development stack, building new platforms in Python with PostgreSQL backends, and we're looking for developers who are excited to grow alongside that transition. This position is 100% funded by the Jackson Heart Study Coordinating Center (JHS CC), which is a $50 million NHLBI contract funded for the next 10 years. The JHS CC manages 8 subcontracts in addition to over 30 ancillary studies, with more expected over the coming years. JHS is responsible for providing data to investigators with an approved ancillary study or manuscript and each data request requires a fully executed Data Management Data Agreement (DMDA) which are renewed annually. This individual will be part of the development team responsible for developing web-based tools to support the data management needs of the JHS study, including events tracking, participant status and enrollment, call tracking and annual visit data collection. This person would work closely with the project managers, statisticians and end users to identify needs, develop specifications, and build and test application functionality. What You'll DoYou'll work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment to design, build, test, and document web applications that support clinical research operations. You'll translate requirements from research and operational stakeholders into clean, maintainable code — and contribute to architecture and tooling decisions as we build out our next-generation platform.Required Skills and Experience
