Clerk, Shipping/Receiving

Responsibilities:

• Pick customer orders from list, stage order and prepare for shipment making sure cartons are stacked in a manner that will not damage the case or its contents. Prepare and print bar code labels using RF scanner to accurately document the shipment.
• Prepare debit memos and bills of lading when required.
• Load and unload trucks as needed using a sit-down forklift.
• Receive goods, raw material, and work in process inspect and verify receipt as to contents, quantity, and condition.
• Move parts from audit to finished goods rack. Weigh and Tag raw material at incoming and move to material racks.
• Stage raw material for production as needed. 
• Package by weight any returning product from subcontractors that was shipped and received in bulk packaging.
• Ensure personal adherence to all Environmental Health and Safety rules and procedures are maintained, including housekeeping and proper operation of tools and equipment.
• Perform specific assignments as instructed by supervisor.

Energy, Environmental, Health, and Safety:

• Comply with and enforce the PKC Group Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.
• Comply with the environmental work instructions applicable to their job position.
• Report any deviation on the environmental operational controls established and communicate improvement initiatives.
• Participate in EHS training.

Education and Experience:

• Work requires the ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations to maintain accurate records.  These skills are normally acquired through the completion of a high school education. 
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with computer operation and can comfortably navigate a windows like system using mouse and keyboard.
• Minimum 1 year Forklift operation experience specifically sit-down forklift. Must be able to operate electric pallet jacks and manual pallet jacks.

Skill Requirements:

• Capable of working independently 

Authority:

• Shipping Clerk has the authority to stop the process, activity or person, who is carrying out an action that puts health, safety at risk or affects the environment.

Working Conditions:

• Work requires the ability to move about to various locations of the facility 100% of the work time.
• Must be able to lift as least 35 pounds, stand or walk 95% of the day, and bend to pack and unpack cartons.
• Able to adapt to change in activities and plans in order to accommodate changing schedules.
