Position Overview

Davey Resource Group is seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support data and analytics initiatives across our Utility Asset Management teams.

This internship will focus on helping teams better understand and leverage operational data across our cloud environments, including Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. The intern will work closely with the Regional Operations Manager and operational teams to identify opportunities where improved data aggregation, analysis, and reporting can provide value to the business.

The role will involve assisting with organizing and analyzing datasets, identifying additional data sources, and helping bring those sources together to support better operational insight and decision-making.

Location: Hybrid & In Office 

Department: Data & Analytics – Supporting Construction Services, Engineering, Field Operations, and Safety

Duration: Internship (Summer / Semester-based, with potential extension)

 

Job Duties

• Work with the Regional Operations Manager and operational teams to identify opportunities where improved data aggregation and analysis could support better business insight

• Assist in gathering and organizing data from multiple internal systems and operational datasets

• Help evaluate and incorporate additional data sources when beneficial to operations

• Support the development of reports, summaries, and dashboards used by operational leadership

• Perform data validation and assist with identifying inconsistencies or gaps in data

• Document datasets and data sources used within analytics workflows

• Assist with ad-hoc analysis requests from leadership and operational teams

• Contribute to improving data accessibility across teams working in Google Cloud and Azure environments

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking: 

• • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, GIS, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field

  • Strong IT and technical aptitude

  • Familiarity with SQL or relational databases

  • Basic experience with data analysis tools or scripting languages (Python, R, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured datasets

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and operational teams

  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure

    • Experience with SQL-based data environments

    • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, etc.)

    • Experience with GIS or spatial datasets
