We are seeking a Website Designer Intern to support the redesign and update of our primary website. This is an on-site, hands-on role focused on improving layout, usability, and overall design quality. This position is intended for someone who wants real-world experience working on a live business website.
What You Will Work On:
- Assist with the redesign and refresh of our website
- Update page layouts, navigation, and visual structure to improve user experience
- Implement design changes using existing themes, child themes, and page builders
- Create and update pages with attention to consistency, clarity, and branding
- Optimize pages for mobile and tablet responsiveness
- Collaborate with internal team members to translate business needs into website updates
- Perform basic SEO-friendly updates, including headings, page structure, and image optimization
- Test and review site changes to ensure quality and usability
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with WordPress through coursework, internships, freelance work, or personal projects
- Strong understanding of website design fundamentals, including layout, hierarchy, spacing, and usability
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and openness to feedback
Portfolio Requirement
- A portfolio of past websites or design work is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite
- Basic understanding of SEO and GEO best practices
- Experience working with child themes
- Awareness of website accessibility and performance considerations
- Interest in how websites support marketing and sales goals
