Chemtrade is a company focused on safety, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer to support Mechanical Reliability initiatives, evaluate equipment performance, and enhance reliability through collaboration with site managers and operations teams.
Responsibilities:
- Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through systematic evaluation and improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment availability, performance, and quality 20%
- Conduct root-cause investigations and address underlying issues affecting equipment reliability and operational efficiency. 15%
- Draft and review corporate engineering standards to improve performance and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment across operations 10%
- Aid in administration of the mechanical integrity program. Draft robust inspection & testing protocols. Assist with equipment inspection, repairs, & compliance. 10%
- Reviews and updates maintenance practices and procedures, including predictive and preventive maintenance programs, and communicates these requirements clearly to all sites. Supports sites in their efforts to attain 'Best Practice' capability in their maintenance functions.. 5 %
- Support the parallel roll-out activities of the overall EHS organization. 5%
- Provides site maintenance engineering & issue resolution for high priority reactive needs and Outages/TAR as required. Partners with site maintenance teams to deploy best practices. 15%
- Supports development of site asset plans for equipment replacement and upgrades, ensuring alignment with operational needs, budget constraints, and strategic objectives. 5%
- Partners with sites to assess reliability risks. Utilizes risk management to produce short and long range capital plans. 5%
- Supports capital projects from conception through commissioning to achieve business objectives. Assures respective maintenance departments are ready and capable to maintain new installations. 10%
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required
- Minimum of 7 years' experience petrochemical, chemical, or refining industry
- SME Mechanical Integrity, Static and Pressure Equipment Demonstrated ability in the practical application of the requirements of 29CFR 1910.119 regulations, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31 series Piping Codes, and ANSI/NB-23 National Board Inspection
- Knowledge of risk-based inspection, equipment design, fabrication, repair codes, corrosion, damage mechanisms, and materials
- Working knowledge of API 510, 570, 571, 572, 574, 576, 580 and 581 codes or recommended practices
- Awareness of additional relevant codes such as ASCE, TEMA, NORSOK, CSA, AGA, DIN, ISO, EN, CGA, IEEE, ISEA, NEMA
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, PCMS, etc
- Organized, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated & High sense of ownership (comfortable working autonomously)

- Experience working with 3rd party engineering consulting firms who specialize in engineering evaluations
- Solid experience in facilitating Root-cause Analysis and corrective actions
- Experience managing small capital projects
- Familiarity with implementing Risk Based Inspection Programs
- Familiarity with Inspection Database Management Systems
