IAT Insurance Group is the largest private, family-owned property and casualty insurer in the U.S., and they are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst. This role supports the effective identification, analysis, and delivery of critical data to key decision-makers to drive incremental value for the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develops working relationships with business partners and functional support groups (Actuarial, Finance, Claims, etc.) in order to clearly identify the business-based need and value proposition
- Analyzes and researches business problems and effective solutions (i.e. creation of models, leveraging of untapped data sources, and automation of data delivery)
- Develops and effectively documents business requirements used for the design and development and automation of targeted solutions. The ability to provide an automated template for all the necessary actuarial work processes is paramount
- Works constructively with key business partners in order to provide input into the identification and development of quality metrics and the ability to efficiently access supporting data elements (data drill-down capabilities)
- Effectively leverages and works with technology-based tools that enable data analytics and data management, especially as pertains to rate filing support, rate decision support, and planning and reserving data
- Communicates the development of collaborative partnerships and the translation of data-centric issues and solutions in an understandable manner to our business partners
- Trains users in the use of Business Intelligence & Analytics tools (Mi reports, self-service applications, dashboards, etc.) to ensure effective adoption and utilization
- Provides guidance of analytic processes systems to the business that can be used
- Work closely with our Data Science and Data Management teams to make sure data needed is stored and accurate
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience or equivalent
- The equivalent is defined as 4 years of relevant experience
- Must be able to collaborate productively with internal/external partners, subject matter experts, and business leaders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at a senior level
- Ability to innovatively solve complex business information needs through the application of current business intelligence tools and technology
- Collaborates productively with internal/external partners, subject matter experts, and business leaders
- To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, Cognos, SQL, report building, programming, and or quantitative analysis
